Bob Armstrong, CITP, is President of Armstrong Trade and Logistics Advisory Services Inc. (ATLAS). Bob became President of The Chartered Institute of Logistics and Transportation North America in July 2012 (CILTNA) and was former President of Supply Chain & Logistics Association Canada (SCL). Bob has over 45 years of experience in the fields of  Global Supply Chain, International Trade, Cross Border Logistics and Customs Regulations and procedures.

Bob Armstrong also served as  President and CEO for the Canadian Association of Importers and Exporters Inc. for nine years and as President of the Association of International Automobile Manufacturers of Canada (AIAMC) for nine years.

Prior experience includes nine years in Senior Management in the Supply Chain & Logistics industry and several years in Ottawa with a major Government Relations Firm and earlier as a Partner of a Major Public Accounting Firm

Since establishing his own business in February 2006, Bob has specialized in the marine sector where he served as the Project Director for MarineLink,Inc. which developed several short sea shipping initiatives on the St.Lawrence Seaway-Great Lakes Waterway. Bob completed his projects with Marinelink in September 2010.

Mr.Armstrong has developed and led over 10 trade logistics missions to China and has extensive expierence assisting Canadian companies to find new customers for exports and to discover new sources of supply in China and South East Asia. Bob also has the expertise to ensure clients products are moved cost effectively, efficiently with visibility and supply chain resilience to and from global markets.

Bob has also performed consulting engagements with respect to multi-modal transportation hubs and the like in Ontario, Alberta and Saskatchewan. ATLAS through the efforts of Bob Armstrong has performed several consulting projects for Ports of Thunder Bay, Hamilton and Belledune all related to  developing new cargo business.  Bob is also currently developing a new container feeder services into the Great Lakes for a ship operator that includes a liner service for containers and bulk cargo.

Bob Armstrong is a well known national and international speaker, author, and expert on issues related to International Trade, Cross-Border Logistics, the Global Supply Chain, and Customs and Security issues. Bob is a Past Chair of the Board of Directors for the Ontario Chamber of Commerce, Past National Chair of Hong Kong Canada Business Association, Past President of HKCBA and currently sits on the Board of Directors of the St.Lawrence Seaway Management Corporation as the Ontario representative and also serv es on the Board of Directors of the Chamber Insurance Corporation of Canada and the Mission to Seafarers of Southern Ontario.

In May 2005, Mr. Armstrong was awarded the prestigious McMillan Binch Mendelsohn Canadian Achievement Award in recognition of his outstanding contribution to Canada and to Canada’s advancement in International Trade.
